I think the news reporting style kind of splits my like and dislike for the movie more than it should. I really think they should have stuck to showing it like we're watching it like a documentary or not at all. Since they did choose to present it with that kind of style, it makes me feel like he deserved to turn into an alien (karama). He didn't really treat the aliens as if they were welcome to stay if they wanted like he and the government were saying. So when the fluid turned him into an alien, he received the same treatment like he would have given if it happened to anyone else.
