My Type of Zombie Movie

I can honestly say that I have never really been a fan of any zombie or vampire movie. That all changed after I recently watched the film Zombieland. This movie starring Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Woody Harrelson is the highest grossing zombie film to date in the United States as it made more than $60 million within the first 17 days of its release. The plot of the story follows the characters of Columbus and Tallahassee as they are on a quest to find a zombie-free safe haven as a new form of mad cow disease has turned a majority of the remaining humans into zombies. The characters have a set list of rules that they use to survive the zombie infested world. Some of these rules include “get a kickass partner”, “avoid the bathroom” and “avoid strip clubs”. These rules provide a sense of humor to a very serious situation, survival. One of my favorite scenes of the movie was when the characters decide to go to Hollywood and visit the mansion of Bill Murray. Murray is not actually infected with the disease but is disguised as a zombie so he can walk safely and play golf among the infected without interference. I feel that I really enjoyed this zombie movie, when I typically do not care for these types of films, because of the mix of horror and comedy throughout. I found Woody Harrelson and Bill Murray’s characters quite hilarious as they would lighten up a rather intense situation. I would recommend this movie to anyone who wants a quick laugh or enjoys films that delve into the world of zombies.
